Introduction from the Assistant Principal
Welcome to Bridge Academy South which forms part of the Stephenson (MK) Trust, we hope that you find the contents of our website useful.
Bridge Academy South is based in Bletchley and supports up to 60 students at Key Stage 3 who are at high risk of permanent exclusion or have been permanently excluded from mainstream schooling. The aim for all students at Bridge South is to work towards targets set by referring schools. Once these targets have been achieved we make contact with local schools at Alternative Education Panel and start the process of integrating students back into mainstream schools.
The core curriculum offered reflects that of a mainstream school, to enable a smooth transition during integration. We also deliver Project Based Learning in the some afternoon sessions. This allows students to gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge.
A range of interventions, notably numeracy, literacy and social skills, are offered where necessary and all Bridge Academy students have access to a therapeutic team, via a referral process, which includes two psychological therapists, an Educational Psychologist, School Counsellor and a Family Support Worker.
