Teaching and Learning 

Stephenson (MK) Trust brings together Stephenson Academy and Bridge Academy as joined alternative provision across Milton Keynes. Stephenson (MK) Trust works collaboratively across both academies in the following ways:

  • A shared vision
  • Joint Academy Subject Development Plans for all subjects
  • Developing a sequenced curriculum to ensure more effective transition between key stages 3 - 5. This process is supported by regular subject and curriculum meetings to allow for strategic planning
  • Lead Core Practitioners in core subjects whose remit is to manage, monitor and support the learning across the Academy
  • Joint training and INSET sessions at Academy and Trust level
  • Joint monitoring schedules and evaluation of provisions within the Academy
  • The sharing of resources on our Share Point VLE platform
  • Support with staffing and the deployment of resources, in particular in more specialist subjects such as Motor Vehicle, Construction, Hair and Beauty and Catering
  • Joint enrichment and trips across key stages 3 - 5
  • Centralising administrative processes such as HR, examinations and finance
  • Centralised and shared ICT facilities

 

In working closely together Stephenson and Bridge Academy aim to raise standards and improve the life chances of students through a considered and planned curriculum which will enhance the learning experiences enjoyed in our school community.
