Maths and success add up

At Bridge Academy we aim to provide pupils with an accessible curriculum which helps identify and fill gaps in knowledge, increase problem solving and reasoning skills and progress academically. We also intend to give pupils an understanding of the world and highlight the importance of mathematics in everyday life.

We provide the full Mathematics National Curriculum, whilst revisiting topics to secure pre-existing skills and acquire new ones. We provide a safe, creative and engaging environment for lessons that include practical learning with laptops, games and trips. Numeracy interventions are offered for those that are in need of extra support and to those that are excelling to help reach their full potential. We aim for all students to leave Bridge Academy with a mathematics qualification.

 In addition to the academic qualifications that students achieve we also provide our students with mathematical knowledge to succeed in day-to-day life which includes how to budgeting, timekeeping, applying discounts and even working out recipe fractions; all the key skills they will need in the next step of their educational journey and in every day life.
